Q. When I join ICF Global, do I automatically become a member of ICF New England?
A. When you join ICF Global, you will be prompted to select a chapter where you can get involved locally. By selecting “New England,” you will automatically become a member of our chapter.
Q. What are the benefits of getting involved with ICFNE?
A. Being involved with ICFNE is an excellent way to develop your skills as a coach, get resources to help you build your coaching business, and make new friends. For a complete description, check out our benefits page. We have monthly events (except July and August) that include networking and a speaker. Our social media groups connect you directly to our community of coaches. We encourage you to maximize your involvement and get to know other members better by joining a committee, participating in events, and even supporting the organization as a member of the Board.
Q. Can I join ICFNE without joining ICF?
Q. How do I get started as a new member?
A. As a new member, you will receive a new member package and may request to be matched up with a buddy who will help answer any questions you have, welcome you to your first meeting, and “show you the ropes.”
Q. How do I connect with the Social Media community?
A. Click on each link below to visit the corresponding social media community.
We encourage you to join any or all of these communities and to participate actively. You do not have to be a member of ICF or ICFNE to participate in these communities, though it is preferred.
Q. When are ICFNE events held?
A. Several times throughout the year, ICFNE holds live dinner meetings and workshops, typically the first Monday of the month. Each evening meeting allows for networking, registration, and dinner, and the evening events are typically preceded by an afternoon workshop. For more information about what to expect at each live event, check out our events page.
Q. Do you have events other than the monthly evening meetings?
A. Teleclasses are scheduled throughout the year as well. Every June brings the Annual Gratitude Awards Gala, during which we announce Coach of the Year Awards for a variety of categories and induct new members into the ICFNE Hall of Fame. In the past, we have held day-long ICFNE Regional conferences and events related to International Coaching Week, which we celebrate in May. For more information on events, check out our events page.
Q. How can I find out about upcoming events?
A. Members receive notifications of meetings via our newsletter. See the sign up form at the top left hand column of this page. Future events are posted in the sidebar of our website so you can plan ahead. We look forward to meeting you in person!
Q. How can I meet someone who specializes in the kind of coaching I might want to do?
A. There are several ways you can find about individual coaches’ specialties. First and foremost, we recommend networking at the live ICFNE events. This is the best way to get to know other coaches and their specialties. In addition, contact your buddy and utilize them as a resource to assist you. Another idea is to connect through the ICFNE social media communities to make a specific request. You may also talk with a member of the ICFNE Board.
Q. I think I might want some coach training. How can I learn about training programs?
A. A comprehensive list of accredited training programs is available on the ICF Global web site.
