A recent study by McKinsey found that resiliency is the most important attribute that women need for career success in the 21st century. While women make up roughly half of the world’s workforce, the vast majority of senior leaders across industry sectors are male. Despite all we know about the value of gender diverse organizations and positive impacts on profitability, women continue to face significant barriers such as discrimination and bias. Therefore, women need to anticipate, navigate, learn and grow from the challenges that they encounter for career success. The ability to maintain one’s resiliency and thrive in the midst of adversity is an intentional choice that women can make when faced with career adversity.

During this webinar, Dr. Kevin Nourse will introduce the Resiliency Framework, which was developed from extensive research and interviews with executive coaches working with women facing career adversity. The framework consists of six strategies that help women to thrive in the face of career challenges. While the framework is focused on women, many of the strategies can be applied to men also.

Whether you are male or female, you will have an opportunity to apply the Framework to yourself as well as gain insight on how to help your clients sustain their resiliency and thrive. Dr. Nourse will also speak to some of the unique challenges that women face in the workplace.

By the end of this session participants will be able to:

  • Define key concepts related to career derailment, resiliency, and thriving.
  • Describe and apply the six resiliency strategies to themselves and their clients.
  • Explain the importance of coaching competencies that are critical for coaches that work with people facing career setbacks.
  • Increase their effectiveness with the following competencies: creating awareness and designing actions.
