A number of people have asked me this question: Why should I attend the Gala? I have my reasons but I’m sure there are other viewpoints, so I asked this same question of others who have attended the previous years. Below is a summary of their responses.
Why will you be attending ICFNE’S
2013 Gratitude Awards Gala?
To Express Gratitude for Our Industry, Our Network, Our Progress
I want to acknowledge the people who work to bring our profession forward and strengthen it for many. I want to acknowledge and support the efforts of individuals and organizations that go beyond their daily challenges and work for the good of many. All boats rise with the rising tide.
I crave a clear voice that can stand behind and promote the efforts of coaches so they can keep doing what they do so well.
It’s a time of excitement, connection, bite sized take-aways about coaching and a snapshot of the community we’ve joined.
To support your colleagues
This celebration is a perfect way to end the year!
Celebrate in gratitude for our profession as coaches
We are coming together to celebrate each other, learn from each other, congratulate each other and wish each other a happy summer/break. There’s no note taking or work involved.
It is exciting to watch the unfolding of the evening and celebrate the awards of colleagues.
To have fun
To hear what Ted will say this year to make me laugh
Taking the time to celebrate the profession and colleagues was an experience I was glad and honored to take part in and I look forward to this year’s event!
For A Source of Inspiration & Motivation – Especially as a New Coach!
Listening to all of the accomplishments and how these coaches had helped so many people was inspiring, exciting, invigorating that this kind of career existed and finally it showed it was a possibility because these people were successful at it. The gala sold me on becoming a coach and opening a business.
After becoming a coach and joining ICFNE the gala is a motivator. Starting with the voting you see what coaches value in other coaches. The nominees show what they are doing in their business and this helps you brainstorm about your own business.
To Contribute to a Great Cause
We are Boston Strong. We are all New England Strong.
To Connect & to Learn
Even though there isn’t an educational component per se, I always learn something new
Networking, making new connections and learning from the wisdom of seasoned coaches
To make new friends in the coaching community & to reconnect with old friends
To Be Inspired
The gala itself is electrifying and contagious. You match faces to a name and hear more of their story. Reality sets in because these nominees and coaches that nominated them are real people making a real difference in the world not only for their clients but also for the coaching community.
To hear Liz Walker introduce Maya Balle for the Hall of Fame!
After attending the Gala you’ll be inspired and proud to be part of one of the largest ICF Chapters in the country!
