Building Resilience in Our Clients and Ourselves, will be a virtual facilitated conversation. The facilitators, Ed Modell and Merle Rockwell, like most of us, have each had experiences which have required resilience to survive. Participants are invited to share their own experiences in this webinar to enhance what hopes to be a lively conversation.

1.0 CCEU Core Competencies
0.5 CCEU Resource Development

"Defining resilience as the ability to bounce back from difficulty is insufficient. Resilience also requires having resources to support you in bouncing back. If you define resilience as an individual trait, individuals get blamed for their inability to recover from adversity." ~ Linda Bacon, PHD and author of Health at Any Size

PREPARATION REQUEST:
Participants are asked to prepare by watching at least the first video (and hopefully others) on the various aspects of resilience with Sheryl Sandberg, the Chief Operating Officer of Facebook, and psychologist Adam Grant. Those videos can be found here.

Also, please read a blog posted by Marilyn Orr, PCC titled Refueling Your Own Tank: Resiliency for Coaches.

Ed Modell, PCC, 2011 Global ICF President, and Merle Rockwell, PCC, both formerly of the ICF Metro DC and Maryland Chapters are both now members of ICF New England and its Maine Satellite, and live in Thomaston, Maine. Their bios can be found here.
