In the spirit of a “pot luck”, we hope each of you shows up (virtually) with something yummy to enjoy and a recipe to share.

On the agenda:

  • Fun facilitated connection activities
  • A recap of the last year and an update on this year’s planned activities
  • A short coaching demo (20 minutes) using the Internal Family System’s model for coaching.
  • A link to all the recipes!!! (Instructions will be provided in your registration confirmation)

Coaching with the Internal Family System’s Model
Presented by Barti Bourgault, MA, PCC, CMT-P

The IFS model gives the coach and client a shared language/map that allows clients to create separation between their “parts” and their fully resourced “Self.” Our parts carry our painful emotions, limiting beliefs and maladaptive behaviors. Within a trusted coaching relationship, clients are able to witness these parts, understand their noble purpose and extend compassion for how hard they work. Feeling seen, heard, accepted and most importantly safe, these parts are often able to take on new roles that are in alignment with and support the clients’ values and deepest desires.

This model supports the coach in asking powerful questions that bring about greater awareness of, and insight into, their clients’ “Internal Systems.” And like all systems, when one part shifts, many things change.

You will learn the basic tenets of the IFS model.

You will witness the steps in the process of:

  • identifying a part,
  • befriending a part,
  • understanding its noble purpose

We will end with Q&A

The IFS Model was developed by Richard Schwartz as a therapeutic model. It is now offered as a model for coaches as well.
