Teams can only be successful if there is a mutual understanding of trust and respect. The best way to create that environment is for leaders to remove barriers built around assumptions, unspoken agendas and ego. The most effective way to dismantle barriers is through a shared common experience. Coaches, I want you to help your clients PLAY!

Play for adults is critical in our stressful go-go-go lives. Play has been shown to release endorphins, improve brain functionality, and stimulate creativity. And it can even help to keep us young and feeling energetic. Studies show that play improves memory and stimulates the growth of the cerebral cortex.

Leading experiential activities is playing with intention. The reason these activities are so powerful is because they follow the experiential learning cycle. Which means that each activity involved

  1. Active, engaging play

  2. Intentional reflection

  3. Connecting what happened in that activity to your real life

  4. Applying that knowledge going forward

The importance of taking time to PLAY, taking time to REFLECT, taking time to CONNECT is critical to the healthy development of a team and supports general mental health and wellbeing.

In the meetings I lead, PLAY looks like:

  • Check-ins

  • Celebrations & Appreciations

  • Team Building activities

  • Problem Solving challenges

  • Meditations & visualizations

  • Outdoors activities / movement breaks

Playful teams are where idea generation and collaboration happens. My favorite meetings are when I walk away feeling energized and inspired. I feel motivated and ready to move forward with a project. I want to help you engage and impact your clients using experiential activities so your clients see the amazingness that can happen when humans get together.
