Living your practice

Join fellow coaches from all over the New England area for our June regional conference where we will lean into and explore the concept of living our practice as coaches. How do we most fully show up to this wonderful vocation in a way that sustainably fills us and allows us to be successful. We are thrilled to offer this gathering, centrally located and at a reasonable price for such inspiring speakers as well as a chance to connect with fellow coaches.

This is ICF New England's first conference in what we hope is a regular tradition. We can't wait to see you there!

Tal Ben-Shahar

Tal Ben-Shahar

Tal Ben-Shahar is an author and lecturer who taught the most popular course at Harvard University on "Positive Psychology," and the university's third most popular course on "The Psychology of Leadership"—with a total of more than 1,400 students.

In 2022, he designed and launched the world’s first Master’s Degree in Happiness Studies in collaboration with Centenary University.

Ben-Shahar consults and lectures around the world to executives in multi-national corporations, the general public, and at-risk populations. Topics include leadership, ethics, happiness, self-esteem, resilience, goal setting, and mindfulness.

His most recent books are Happier, No Matter What: Cultivating Hope, Resilience, and Purpose in Hard Times and Happiness Studies. He is also the author of The Joy of Leadership: How Positive Psychology Can Maximize Your Impact (and Make You Happier) in a Challenging World, The New York Times bestseller Happier: Learn the Secrets to Daily Joy and Lasting Fulfillment, and others.

Ben-Shahar is a serial entrepreneur and is the co-founder and chief learning officer of the Happiness Studies Academy (HSA), Potentialife, Maytiv, and Happier.TV.

An avid sportsman, Ben-Shahar won the U.S. Intercollegiate and Israeli National squash championships. He earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology from Harvard.


Alesia Latson

Alesia Latson

Alesia Latson has been studying and practicing the art and science of leadership and organizational development for over 25 years.  Through expert facilitation and executive coaching, Alesia has worked with teams and hundreds of leaders at all levels to expand their management and leadership effectiveness.

She is formerly an adjunct faculty member of Lesley University, St. Joseph’s University and Bentley College.  Ms. Latson is a frequently guest speaker at Babson Executive Education, MIT Sloan School of Business, Simmons School of Management, the University of Michigan’s Ross Business School and served as an executive coach for Harvard University’s Professional Leadership Development Program. 

She co-authored More Time for You – A Powerful System for Organizing Your Work and Get Things Done.

She lives in Sharon MA with her husband, Brian and their adorable dog – Pipe.

Finding Your Ground in Turbulent Times with Tal Ben-Shahar
The Science of Happiness
Tal Ben-Shahar on using evidence-based tools and techniques to attain resilience for ourselves and our clients in these unsettling times.

In this session, Tal Ben-Shahar will introduce participants to practical interventions that they can apply in their personal and professional lives, as leaders and coaches. Starting with the idea of antifragility, Ben-Shahar will look at what coaches and clients can do to not only deal with, but also grow from, challenging experiences. Some of the topics that will be discussed include acceptance and the permission to be human, the role of recovery in dealing with stress, the power of kindness and giving, and identifying meaning and purpose.
