It’s the end of the ICFNE program year and time to connect, reflect on our work together, and dive into some new learnings! This special summer event will open with the Board holding their final, regular board meeting and all members are invited to attend. During that meeting we will introduce the three new directors and bid farewell with gratitude to directors leaving the Board. The board will review steps we will take to ratify the new bylaws at the annual meeting, where the vote will be taken in the presence of the members.

Following this open board meeting, we will facilitate some fun networking with your colleagues. We will then hold a brief annual meeting celebrating ICFNE’s accomplishments and volunteers to close out the year.

Our featured speaker for the educational portion of the session will be Vik Kapoor, talking about self-coaching. In these difficult times, the more resources we have the more we can meet our own needs. Vik will explain how everyday tools like a journal, a mirror, and a voice or video recorder can be helpful for self-coaching. Drawing on research in neuroscience and coaching psychology, as well as examples from his own life and work creating an international coaching program at the United Nations, Vik offers curated best practices in self-coaching that you can use right away.

By turning inward and coaching ourselves, we create the necessary environment to be able to more effectively serve others, and our impact naturally grows.

Learning objectives:

  • Explore what self-coaching is and how it might be appropriate for you and your practice
  • Learn some of the research on the power of special journal prompts and mirror work
  • Practice meditation and creative visualization
  • Discuss the application of several assessments related to self-coaching, such as StrengthsFinder, The Four Tendencies, and the VIA character strengths assessment
  • Explore the benefits and limitations of self-coaching in addressing limiting beliefs, biases, and behavior patterns

Agenda:

  • 9:00 – 9:30 am - Open Board Meeting
  • 9:30 - 10:00 am – Small Group Networking
  • 10:00 – 10:30 am – Annual Meeting and Celebration/Recognition Event
  • 10:30-10:45 am – BREAK
  • 10:45-12:30 – First Serve Yourself—Self-Coaching for Coaches and Leaders with Vik Kapoor
  • The session will be recorded and available to registrants after the session, but you must participate in the session live in order to receive any related Core Competency CCEs (if applicable).

CCE Units: Total 1.5 (.5 Core Competency;1.0 Resource Development)

Please note:  After the session is completed, ICFNE will send you a program evaluation via email. You must complete the evaluation in order to receive your CCE certificate.  Live attendance is required for core competency credits. We recommend you download and print the email containing your CCE certificate immediately upon receipt as we are not able to provide additional copies.
